Look at the map in 2a and make conversations about the places.

A: Have you ever been to the space museum? 

B: Yes, I have. How about you?

A: No, I haven’t.

B: Oh, it’s fantastic. Let’s go tomorrow.

A: OK. How are we going to get there?

B: We can take the subway.

Language points

1. — Have you ever been to a history museum?

— No, I haven’t.

— Me neither.

Me neither是英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)中的常用表達(dá),意思是“我也不(沒(méi))”,與Me too意思相對(duì)。

如:My friends are happy. Me too.

(1) 英語(yǔ)中表示后者與前者情形相同“也不……”時(shí),常用neither引起的倒裝句。其結(jié)構(gòu)為:Neither+助動(dòng)詞/系動(dòng)詞be/情態(tài)動(dòng)詞+主語(yǔ)

e.g. I’m not tall. Neither is she. 

= I’m not tall. She’s not tall, either.

我個(gè)子不高,她個(gè)子也不高。

(2) 如果表示后者與前者情形相同,“也……”常用so引起的倒裝句。其結(jié)構(gòu)為:

so+助動(dòng)詞/系動(dòng)詞be/情態(tài)動(dòng)詞+主語(yǔ)

e.g. My friends are happy. So am I.

= My friends are happy. I’m happy, too./ I’m also happy.

我的朋友高興, 我也很高興。

both / neither / either用法辨析

both 意為“兩者都”,一般用于肯定的陳述句。與of連用作主語(yǔ)時(shí),其后謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式;作定語(yǔ)時(shí),其后常跟名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式。

neither 意為“兩者都不或兩者中任何一個(gè)也不”,表示“全否定”,與of 連用作主語(yǔ)時(shí),其后謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式;作定語(yǔ)時(shí),只修飾可數(shù)名詞的單數(shù)形式。

either 意為“兩者中的任何一個(gè)”,用作主語(yǔ)時(shí),其后謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式;用作定語(yǔ)時(shí),只修飾可數(shù)名詞的單數(shù)形式。

2. I learned about the inventions that led to color movies, too.

我還了解了一些發(fā)明,它們成就了彩色電影。此處learn是“了解;獲知;得知”的意思,由介詞about或of引入所獲知的具體內(nèi)容。

e.g. The children were all shocked to learn of the death of their headmaster.

得知校長(zhǎng)去世,孩子們都十分震驚。     

3. I’ve never been camping. 我從未野營(yíng)過(guò)。

此句為現(xiàn)在完成進(jìn)行時(shí),這一時(shí)態(tài)的結(jié)構(gòu) has/have been + 現(xiàn)在分詞,表示從過(guò)去某一時(shí)刻一直延續(xù)至今的動(dòng)作。在本句中,說(shuō)話人使用這一時(shí)態(tài)來(lái)強(qiáng)調(diào)自己至今從未有過(guò)野營(yíng)的經(jīng)歷,欠缺這方面的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。

e.g. We’ve been living like this ever since the birth of my little brother.

自打我小弟弟出生,我們就一直這樣生活。
