1. Why did Wei Fen find it difficult to learn English?
為什么魏芬發(fā)現(xiàn)學(xué)英語很難？
“find + it +adj. +to do sth.”“發(fā)現(xiàn)做某事……”，it為形式賓語，to do sth為真正的賓語。
My pen pal found it difficult to learn Chinese well.
我的筆友發(fā)現(xiàn)學(xué)好漢語很困難。
2. What is the secret to language learning?
語言學(xué)習(xí)的秘訣是什么？
“the secret to … ”“……的秘訣”，其中to 為介詞，表示所屬，意為“……的”，“secret”在此處用作可數(shù)名詞，意為 “秘密；秘訣”。
►Her age is a secret to us all.她的年齡對(duì)我們大家來說是個(gè)秘密。
3. The teacher spoke so quickly that I did not understand her most of the time.
老師講話如此快，以至于大部分時(shí)間我都聽不懂。
“so ...that” 意為“如此……以至于”。引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句。
►The weather was so bad that he had to stay at home.
天氣是如此糟糕，以至于他不得不待在家里。
4. I was afraid to ask questions because of my poor pronunciation.
但是因?yàn)槲以愀獾陌l(fā)音，我害怕問問題。
be afraid to do sth. 意為“害怕做某事”。
►I am afraid to travel by plane.我害怕乘飛機(jī)旅行。
be afraid of sb/ sth. “害怕某人/某物”。
►Are you afraid of snake? 你怕蛇嗎？
I am afraid that 從句. “擔(dān)心……”。
5. Then one day I watched an English movie called Toy Story. I fell in love with this exciting and funny movie!
之后的一天，我看了一部名為《玩具總動(dòng)員》的英文電影。我愛上了這部令人興奮而有趣的電影！
called Toy Story. 為過去分詞短語作后置定語，修飾名詞movie。
fall in love with “愛上某人/某物”。同義于“be in love with”意為“與……相愛”，表狀態(tài)。
►They fell in love with each other after working together?
一起工作后他們相愛了。
6. I want to learn new words and more grammar so that I can have a better understanding of English movies.
我想學(xué)習(xí)新單詞和更多的語法，以便我可以更好地理解英文電影。
