連詞 and
意為“和, 并且; 然后; 那么”, 表示并列關(guān)系、順承關(guān)系或條件和結(jié)果的關(guān)系。

My mother is a nurse and my father is a teacher.

連詞 but
意為“但是”, 表示轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系, 連接意義相反或相對(duì)的詞或句子。
The house is small but nice.
這個(gè)房子很小但是很漂亮。
The car is very old, but it runs very fast.
這輛小汽車很舊了，但是它跑得很快。
連詞 because
意為“因?yàn)?rdquo;, 引導(dǎo)原因狀語從句, 表示原因。
because 引導(dǎo)的原因狀語從句可用來回答 why 開頭的疑問句。
—Why do you want to go there? 你為什么想去那里?
—Because it's an interesting place. 因?yàn)槟鞘莻�(gè)有趣的地方。
because引導(dǎo)的原因狀語從句可在主句前也可在主句后，在主句前時(shí)，要用逗號(hào)與主句隔開。
Because this is our first lesson, I don't know your names.
= I don't know your names because this is our first lesson.
因?yàn)檫@是我們的第一節(jié)課, 所以我不知道你們的名字。
