fall down，fall off和fall over都表示“摔倒、跌倒”的意思，但它們各自的含義不同。
1.fall over強調的是“向前摔倒、跌倒”。
She fell over and broke her leg.
她跌倒并把腿摔斷了。
2.fall down強調的是“滑倒、倒下”，后接賓語時應加上介詞 from。
If people run across the road，they may fall down.
如果人們跑過馬路的話，他們可能會摔倒。
3. fall off強調的是“跌落、從……掉下來”，后直接接賓語。
The girl is falling off the bike.
（= The girl is falling down from the bike.）
女孩正從自行車上摔下來。
Tom fell off the tree and got hurt.
