So am I承接上一句貝蒂媽媽說的話: … I’m sorry you can’t come with us, Betty. (貝蒂, 你不能和我們一起去, 很遺憾), 表示“我也很遺憾無法同行”。
“So + be/助動詞+主語”這一結(jié)構(gòu)表示自己與前一個人的情況相同或同意一個人的說法, 意思是“……也這樣”。
e.g. Joe was a little upset, and so was I.
喬有點不開心, 我也有點兒。
He has been ill, and so has his wife.
他一直生著病, 他妻子也一樣。

miss v. 未出席; 未出現(xiàn)
后面出現(xiàn)動詞時, 應(yīng)該用動詞的-ing形式。
e.g. Get up early or you will miss the early bus.
She missed going to the party on Saturday.
miss作動詞還有“想念”的意思。
miss作名詞意為“女士; 小姐”, 此時m必須大寫, 常用于姓名或姓之前, 尤指未婚女子。如: Miss Brown。

常用于否定句或疑問句中; 當用于肯定句
中時, 相當于any person, 意為“任何人”。

ring v. 鳴響; 發(fā)出鈴聲
e.g. The telephone is ringing.
電話鈴響了。
