Language Points
1. Everything seems to be getting faster, too.
一切也似乎變得更快了。
主語(yǔ)+seem to be +表語(yǔ) Tom seems to be happy.
主語(yǔ)+seem +to do sth Lily doesn’t seem to like red.
It seems that+句子 It seems that Tom is happy.
1).那邊那個(gè)人看上去像一位新老師。
The man over there seems to be like a new teacher.
2).這個(gè)年輕人看起來(lái)變化很大。
The young man seems to have changed much.
2 . Then steam was able to power boats and cars.
那時(shí)蒸汽能給船舶和汽車提供動(dòng)力。
be able to表示“能；能夠”，后接動(dòng)詞原形 。
eg.Betty is able to sing.貝蒂會(huì)唱歌。
3. The world is always moving.
這個(gè)世界總是運(yùn)動(dòng)的。
be always doing sth “總是或一致做某事”，現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)與always連用，表示一個(gè)經(jīng)常重復(fù)的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)。常用來(lái)表達(dá)說(shuō)話人的某種感情，如：贊嘆、埋怨、厭煩等。
