eg：What other languages do you know besides English?
除了英語(yǔ)之外，你還懂什么語(yǔ)言？
辨析except，except for，besides與but
except
意為“除了”，表示從整體中除去，不包括所除事物在內(nèi)。
except for
意為“除了”，其前后所用的詞或詞組所表示的不是同類(lèi)事物，后面所說(shuō)情況是對(duì)前面所說(shuō)基本情況在細(xì)節(jié)上加以糾正。
besides
意為“除……以外(還)”，包括所除事物在內(nèi)。
but
意為“除了”，常用在no, none, all, nobody, where, everything, everyone等后。
eg：All the essays are well written except Jim’s.
除了吉姆的，所有的文章寫(xiě)得都很好。
His essay is well written except for a few spelling mistakes.
除了幾處拼寫(xiě)錯(cuò)誤之外，他的文章寫(xiě)得很好。

【點(diǎn)撥】此題采用正確把握語(yǔ)境法。except表示“除了”，
不包括后面所說(shuō)內(nèi)容，besides表示“除……之外(還)”， 包括后面所說(shuō)的內(nèi)容，except for 表示“除了”，其前后所用的詞或詞組所表示的不是同類(lèi)事物，beside表示“在……旁邊”。根據(jù)句意：——杰克擅長(zhǎng)籃球嗎？——是的，除了籃球外他也擅長(zhǎng)乒乓球。可知杰克擅長(zhǎng)籃球也擅長(zhǎng)乒乓球。故選B。
