動(dòng)詞不定式的用法
一、動(dòng)詞不定式表示目的,作目的狀語(yǔ)。
1. I stayed there to see what would happen. to后面所接的 see 是前面這個(gè)動(dòng)作stayed there的目的。意為“我呆在那兒,(目的是)看看會(huì)發(fā)生什么。”
2. 有時(shí)為了強(qiáng)調(diào), 可用in order to 或so as to。
eg:Bob took down my telephone number so as(in order)not to forget it.
3. 由 in order to 引導(dǎo)的目的狀語(yǔ),既可以置于句尾,也可以置于句首,而由 so as to 引導(dǎo)的目的狀語(yǔ),只能置于句尾,而不能置于句首。比較:
They started early in order to get there in time. (正)
In order to get there in time, they started early. (正)
They started early so as to get there in time. (正)
So as to get there in time, they started early. (誤)
二、動(dòng)詞+賓語(yǔ)+ 動(dòng)詞不定式結(jié)構(gòu),此時(shí)動(dòng)詞不定式可以說(shuō)明賓語(yǔ)的情況,在句中作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。
1. 可跟不定式作賓補(bǔ)的動(dòng)詞:warn, tell, allow, ask, order, get, invite, wish, want, encourage等
eg:The teacher told me to clean the blackboard.
I want you to give me some help.
2. 有些感官動(dòng)詞(如see、hear、watch、notice等)和使役動(dòng)詞(如let、make等)后要跟不帶to的動(dòng)詞不定式(短語(yǔ))作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)?偨Y(jié)起來(lái)有“五看,三使,二聽(tīng),一感覺(jué)”。
eg:I saw him play basketball with Jack an hour ago.
Let me tell you something about him.
