一、過去進行時
1. 定義
過去進行時表示過去某一時刻正在進行的動作或過去某一階段一直在進行的動作。
eg：I was reading in the library at that time.
那時我正在圖書館看書。
2. 構成
過去進行時由“was/were＋現在分詞”構成。
3. 句式變換
一般疑問句及回答: Was/Were＋主語＋v. ing形式＋其他？
肯定回答：Yes，主語＋was/were.
否定回答：No，主語＋wasn't/weren't.
eg：—Were you watching TV at home at 9 o'clock yesterday evening?昨天晚上9點你在家看電視嗎？
—Yes，I was. / No, I wasn't. 是，我是。/不，我不是。
否定句:
肯定句變否定句時在was/were 之后加not，was not�？s寫為wasn't，were not 常縮寫為weren't。
eg：I was not/ wasn't reading in the library at that time.
我那時不在圖書館看書。
特殊疑問句：
疑問詞＋was/ were＋主語＋ v. ing形式＋其他？
例如：What were you doing at that time?
你那時在干什么？
二、when、while和as的用法
when/ as后的動作可以是短暫的也可以是延續(xù)的，while后只能是延續(xù)的。
