Language points
How much are these socks? 這雙襪子多少錢?
1) how much意為“多少”,常用于詢問價格。如果詢問的是可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞的價格, 后面的be動詞形式用is;
如果詢問的是可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)的價格,be 動詞形式用are。
例句:How much is that pen? 那支鋼筆多少錢?
How much is the broccoli? 花椰菜多少錢?
How much are these tomatoes? 這些西紅柿多少錢?
【鏈接】how much 也通常用來詢問數(shù)量, 后接不可數(shù)名詞。
例句:How much water is there in the bottle?
瓶子里有多少水?
How much salad is there in the bowl?
碗里有多少沙拉?
如修飾可數(shù)名詞問數(shù)量,則用how many。
例句:How many apples are there in the bag?
袋子里有多少蘋果?
2) socks, shoes, shorts, trousers這類物品常常成對出現(xiàn), 所以它們作主語時, 和它們搭配的謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。
例句:Are those trousers Jim’s? 那是吉姆的褲子嗎?
The shorts are 58 dollars. 這條短褲58美元。
