Nancy wanted to watch TV first before taking the dog out for a walk. Nancy watched TV all the time instead of helping out around the house.

Yes. Both Nancy and her mother did not do any housework for a week. The house got so messy that Nancy could not even find a clean dish or a clean shirt. She decided to do the housework to make the house clean and tidy again. She apologized to her mom and said that she finally understood they need to share the housework in order to have a clean and comfortable home.
Read the sentences below. Underline the sentences from the reading that mean the same thing.

For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.
2.My mom came over as soon as I sat down in front of the TV.

Language points
1.For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.
這一周她沒有干任何家務(wù)，我也不干。
Neither did I 是一種倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)，neither為副詞，還可用nor來替換。當(dāng)neither或nor表示“也不”這一概念時往往使用倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)。
He’s not good at swimming, nor am I.
他不擅長游泳，我也不。
2. “What happened?” she asked in surprise.
他驚訝的問道：“發(fā)生什么事情了？”
介詞短語 in surprise 表示狀態(tài)，意思是“吃驚地， 驚訝地”。 再如:
He looked at me in great surprise and asked for a long while, “Don’t you just leave for Australia this morning?” 他極其驚訝地看著我，好久才問道:
“你不是今早才離開去澳大利亞了嗎？”
