Date:  on the 15th of August in the Chinese lunar calendar

Enjoying the moon is the most popular activity on the Mid-autumn Festival.

I think “full moon” means  “The moon is very round on the night of Chinese Lunnar August 15th.”  

I think “full feelings” means “The feelings between people are very full of love and miss like the round moon. ” 

Language Points

1.They carry people’s wishes to the families the love and miss.

月餅寄托著人們對(duì)他們所愛(ài)與思念的家人的祝福。

wish此處用作名詞,意為“祝福;愿望”。

►Send you my best wishes. 送給你我最美好的祝愿。

►My wish is to become a doctor. 我的愿望是當(dāng)一名醫(yī)生。

wish還可用作動(dòng)詞,意為“希望;想要”,后接名詞、代詞或動(dòng)詞不定式作賓語(yǔ)。

►Do you wish a pen or a book? 你想要的是鋼筆還是書?

►I wish you success.     我祝你成功。

►We wish to see the film. 我們希望看那部電影。

辨析 wish 與 hope

wish to do sth.      希望做某事

wish+ that從句     希望……(不易實(shí)現(xiàn)的愿望)

wish sb. to do sth. 希望某人做某事

wish sb.+n.           希望某人……

hope to do sth.     希望做某事

hope+ that從句    希望……(易實(shí)現(xiàn)的愿望)

miss動(dòng)詞,意為“思念,想念”。

► I m sure that everybody will miss him.

我相信每個(gè)人都會(huì)想念他的。

miss作動(dòng)詞,還可表示“錯(cuò)過(guò)”后接名詞、 代詞或動(dòng)詞-ing形式作賓語(yǔ)。

►Don t miss our bargain offer. 本店大減價(jià),勿失良機(jī)!

►I missed taking part in the sports meeting.

我錯(cuò)過(guò)了參加這次運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的機(jī)會(huì)。

2.However, most people think that the story of Chang’e is the most touching.

然而,大多數(shù)人認(rèn)為嫦娥的故事最動(dòng)人。

however副詞,意為“不過(guò);然而”,有轉(zhuǎn)折的含義,相當(dāng)于but,可位于句首、句中和句末。

位于句首時(shí),其后用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi);

位于句中時(shí),其前用分號(hào)或逗號(hào),其后用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi);

位于句末時(shí),其前用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi)。但but只能置于句首或句中。

3.Whoever took this could live forever, and Hou Yi planned to take it with Chang’e.

無(wú)論誰(shuí)喝了此藥都能長(zhǎng)生不老。后羿打算和嫦娥一起服用。

whoever作代詞,意為“無(wú)論誰(shuí);不管什么人”,相當(dāng)于no matter who,可引導(dǎo)讓步狀語(yǔ)從句或名詞性從句。此處whoever引導(dǎo)名性從句,作主語(yǔ),表達(dá)讓步之意。

► Whoever did it, I didn’t.

不管這事是誰(shuí)干的,反正不是我干的。

►Whoever comes will be welcome.  誰(shuí)來(lái)都?xì)g迎。 

Plan動(dòng)詞,意為“計(jì)劃,規(guī)劃”,其過(guò)去式及過(guò)去分詞均為 planned,現(xiàn)在分詞為planning。 

常用短語(yǔ):plan to do sth. 意為“計(jì)劃做某事”。

►I plan to go shopping after work.我打算下班后去購(gòu)物。

4.…tried to steal the medicine when Hou Yi was not home………試圖趁后羿不在家時(shí)偷仙藥。

try to do sth. 意為“盡力做某事”

try doing sth. 意為“嘗試做某事”

► He shut his eyes and tried to sleep. 他閉上眼睛想睡覺(jué)。

► He tried to find out the answer to the question.

他努力尋找這個(gè)問(wèn)題的答案。

►You always go there by train. Why not try taking a bus?

你總是坐火車去那兒。為什么不試試坐公共汽車呢?

steal動(dòng)詞,意為“偷;竊取”。其過(guò)去式、   

過(guò)去分詞分別為stole、stolen。

► She used to steal money from her father’s drawer. 

他過(guò)去常從父親的抽屜里偷錢。

► It’s wrong to steal.   偷竊是不對(duì)的。

5.Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night.

后羿傷心不已,每晚對(duì)月呼喊她的名字。

so…that... 意為“如此……以至于”引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句,so后接形容詞或副詞,常用以下結(jié)構(gòu):

so + 形容詞/副詞 + that從句;

so + 形容詞+ a/an + 單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞 + that 從句;

so + many/few + 復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞 + that從句;

so + much/little + 不可數(shù)名詞 + that 從句。

►It was so hot that we all went for a swim.

天氣太熱了,所以我們都去游泳了。

►He had so many books to read that he had no time to watch TV.

他有這么多書要讀以至于沒(méi)有時(shí)間看電視了。

call out one’s name 意為“大聲呼喊某人的名字”。

►I called out her name but she turned a deaf ear to my calling.      

我大聲叫她,但她不理我。

6.After this, people started the tradition of admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families. 

此后, 人們便開(kāi)始了同家人一起賞月品月餅的傳統(tǒng)。

tradition名詞,意為“傳統(tǒng)”。其形容詞形式是 traditional (傳統(tǒng)的)。

the tradition of...意為“……的傳統(tǒng)”。

► It is simply a village tradition. 它僅僅是一個(gè)村莊的傳統(tǒng)。

admire 動(dòng)詞,意為“欣賞;仰慕”。

常用結(jié)構(gòu):

admire sb./sth. 欣賞某人/某物; 

admire sb. for sth. 為某事而欣賞某人;因某事而佩服某人

►We admired him very much. 我們很欣賞他。

►I admire her for her bravery.我很欽佩她的勇氣。
