be supposed to do sth.意為“應(yīng)該/應(yīng)當(dāng)做某事”，相當(dāng)于should do sth.，用來(lái)表示根據(jù)規(guī)定或傳統(tǒng)習(xí)慣人們不得不做或期待發(fā)生的事。be supposed to中的to為動(dòng)詞不定式符號(hào)，后接動(dòng)詞原形，be動(dòng)詞有人稱和時(shí)態(tài)的變化。
具體用法
①當(dāng)be supposed to...的主語(yǔ)是“人”時(shí)，意為“應(yīng)該……，被期望……”，可以用來(lái)表示勸告、建議、義務(wù)、責(zé)任等，相當(dāng)于情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should。例如：
You’re supposed to ask the teacher if you want to leave the classroom.
如果你要離開教室的話,你應(yīng)該先問問老師。
②當(dāng)be supposed to...的主語(yǔ)是“物”時(shí)，意為“本應(yīng)，本該”，用于表示某事本應(yīng)該發(fā)生而沒有發(fā)生。
The meeting is supposed to take place on Tuesday, but we have to put it off.

③be supposed to...還可用于表示“被認(rèn)為……；被相信是……”。
