could and should

Could  表示  “應(yīng)該”。 表示建議時(shí),語氣不是那么肯定。

You could at least have met me at the station. 你至少應(yīng)該到車站來接我。

Should  表示 “必須,應(yīng)該”。表示建議時(shí),表示的建議是最好的,語氣非?隙ā

Children should obey their parents. 

兒童應(yīng)該服從他們的父母。 

用should, shouldn’t, could, couldn’t完成句子:

1. If you want friends, you _______ be friendlier.

2. You _____       argue with your father any more.

eg. He looks through several newspaper before breakfast. 他早飯前通常瀏覽幾份報(bào)紙。

3. Although she's wrong, it’s not a big deal. 

big deal是英語中的一個(gè)固定搭配,表示 “重要的事情或狀況”,多用于非正式交流。作否定用法時(shí),常說It’s not a  big deal或It’s no big deal.表示說話人并不認(rèn)為某事有什么了不起。

e.g. There's a soccer game on TV this 

evening but I don’t have to watch it. It’s no big deal. 今天晚上電視上有一場足球賽,但我不一定要看。沒什么大不了的。
