1. Jason Glen is a 12-year-old boy from Riverside High School. 

在12-year-old這一結(jié)構(gòu)中,詞與詞之間用連字符連接,通常作定語(yǔ),后接名詞。

She has a six-year-old daughter. 

她有個(gè)6歲的女兒。

如果用作表語(yǔ),應(yīng)去掉連字符,此時(shí)year用復(fù)數(shù)。

Her daughter is six years old. 

她女兒6歲了。

2. On the first day of school, something terrible happened.

形容詞作定語(yǔ)通常置于被修飾詞之前,但當(dāng)被修飾的詞是復(fù)合不定代詞時(shí),則置于復(fù)合不定代詞之后。
