1. happen v. 發(fā)生
◆On the first day of school, something terrible happened.
開學的第一天，可怕的事情發(fā)生了。
◆Great changes took place in our hometown.
我們家鄉(xiāng)發(fā)生了很大變化。
【探究總結】happen的用法
(1)happen 發(fā)生，指偶然發(fā)生，沒有預料到。某人發(fā)生了某事，應表達為： sth. happen __ sb. 。
(2)take place表示“發(fā)生，舉行，舉辦”，一般指非偶然性事件的“發(fā)生”。
2. come up with想出；提出（主意、答案等）
◆So they came up with a plan.
因此他們想出了一個計劃。
◆I’ll come up with you soon.
我很快會趕上你的。
【探究總結】come up with的用法
(1)意為“想出；提出”，后常跟idea, plan, answer等名詞，相當于think of。
(2)追趕上，比得上，相當于catch up with。
