reply和answer作動(dòng)詞時(shí)的區(qū)別：
answer 其后可以直接跟賓語(yǔ)
reply 后跟賓語(yǔ)時(shí)要加 to
eg：I replied to /answered his letter last night.
昨天晚上我回復(fù)了他的來(lái)信。
(1)answer與reply，兩者均可表示“回答”，但answer
屬于常用詞，多用于一般性的應(yīng)答；而reply較正式，多指經(jīng)過(guò)考慮而作出的答復(fù)。
eg：I’m looking forward to your reply.
我盼望著你的答復(fù)。
(2)answer與reply，兩者作名詞時(shí)，表示“對(duì)……的回答(答復(fù))；答案”等，其后均接介詞to。
eg：an answer to the question 這個(gè)問(wèn)題的一個(gè)答案
(3)answer常與telephone, door, bell等連用，但reply不能這樣用。
eg：Who answered the telephone？誰(shuí)接的電話？
