1. Before class, I was nervous about this report.

在上課前,我因?yàn)閳?bào)告的事特別緊張。

be nervous about表示“因……而緊張”,about是介詞,

后接名詞或者動(dòng)名詞。

I am nervous about seeing her every time.

每一次我一見到她就緊張。

I am a little nervous about the English test next week.

我對(duì)下周的英語測(cè)驗(yàn)有一點(diǎn)緊張。

2.go to college/university 上大學(xué)

不表示具體的大學(xué),前面不用冠詞。

I work hard in school and I hope to go to college someday.

我在學(xué)校努力學(xué)習(xí),希望將來可以上大學(xué)。

go to school   上學(xué)

go to prison    坐牢

go to hospital 去醫(yī)院看病

leave school    放學(xué);輟學(xué);畢業(yè)

be in hospital 住院

不表示具體的大學(xué),前面不用冠詞。但當(dāng)這些名詞表示具體的事物時(shí),前面要加冠詞。

I went to the hospital to see a friend this morning.

我今天上午去醫(yī)院看望了一個(gè)朋友。

3. This gives me some confidence to speak English.

這增加了我說英語的信心。

動(dòng)詞不定式短語to speak English作后置定語,修飾 

confidence. confidence意思是“信心;信任”。

A hobby can help build your confidence and make your life more colourful.

興趣能夠幫助建立你的信心,使你的生活更加豐富多彩。
