【句式解讀】句中so that引導(dǎo)的從句在句中作目的狀語，作用上相當(dāng)于“in order that＋從句”。
【用法總結(jié)】
(1)so that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句時(shí)相當(dāng)于in order that＋從句，從句中常用could，might等情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，該結(jié)構(gòu)可以改寫為so as to do sth或in order to do sth。
①M(fèi)y father began to study computer in his sixties so that/in order that he might keep up with times.＝ My father began to study computer in his sixties so as to/in order to keep up with times.
我爸爸在六十多歲時(shí)開始學(xué)習(xí)電腦以便跟上時(shí)代。
(2)so that也可引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句，一般不與could，might等情態(tài)動(dòng)詞連用。
②She hadn’t planned her time well so that she didn’t finish her work on time.
她沒有計(jì)劃好她的時(shí)間，因此她沒有按時(shí)完成她的工作。
