but he is in excellent condition.
這位老人雖然70多歲了，但是他的健康狀況很好。
3. sleepy adj. 困的，想睡的
sleepy可作表語或定語
Look at the sleepy girl. She is sleepy.
看這個(gè)打瞌睡的女孩，她困了。

① sleep n. 睡覺，睡眠 v. 睡，入睡 ；
② asleep adj. 睡著的，熟睡的；只能作表語，常用于短語“fall asleep (入睡）”中；

4. daily adj. 每天的；天天的
daily表示“日常的；每日的” 時(shí)，只能作定語，
不能作表語。
eg: How is your daily life?

【拓展】 daily 還可以用作名詞，意為“日?qǐng)?bào)”。
eg: A new daily will appear in our town soon.
一份新的日?qǐng)?bào)不久將在我市問世。
5. awful adj. 極討厭的；極壞的

知識(shí)講解

had 在句中是動(dòng)詞的過去分詞，與助動(dòng)詞have 構(gòu)成現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)。
又因?yàn)閔ad(have)是延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞，故可以和表示一段時(shí)間的狀語連用。
Tony bought the car two years ago.
托尼兩年前買的這輛車。
= Tony has had the car for two years.
托尼擁有這輛車已經(jīng)有兩年了。
【拓展】延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞表示能夠延續(xù)的動(dòng)作，可以與表示時(shí)間段的狀語連用。
2. Perhaps I am too weak to do any exercise.
或許我太虛弱而不能進(jìn)行一些鍛煉。
too…to…意為“太……而不能……”，
too后面接形容詞或副詞，to后面接動(dòng)詞原形。
可以與not…enough to…的結(jié)構(gòu)互換。
Little Ashley is too young to look after herself.
小艾希莉太小而不能照顧自己。
= Little Ashley is not old enough to look after herself.
