suggest動詞，意為“建議”�？山用~、動名詞或that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句。其名詞為suggestion，為可數(shù)名詞。
My father suggested going for a walk after dinner yesterday. 昨天我父親建議晚飯后去散步。
I would like your suggestions. 我想要你的建議。
2. The air pressure pushing up on the cardboard is higher than that of the water pushing down from inside the jar.
向上推紙板的氣壓要比罐子里向下推的水的氣壓高。
that用來替代前面提到的不可數(shù)名詞或單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞，以避免重復(fù)。
The price of rice is lower than that (the price) of meat.
米的價格比肉的價格低。
The weather here is much hotter than that in my city.
這里的天氣比我們城市的天氣熱太多。
3. Scientific discoveries are making our lives better and better. 科學(xué)發(fā)現(xiàn)正在讓我們的生活變得越來越好。
（1）discovery可數(shù)名詞，意為“發(fā)現(xiàn)，發(fā)覺”，其復(fù)數(shù)形式為discoveries。其動詞為discover，后跟名詞、代詞或賓語從句。
This is an important discovery. 這是一個重要的發(fā)現(xiàn)。
They have discovered our secrets.
他們已經(jīng)發(fā)現(xiàn)了我們的秘密。
（2）better and better“越來越好”，其構(gòu)成為“比較級+and+比較級”，意為“越來越……”。當(dāng)比較級用more構(gòu)成時，要用結(jié)構(gòu)“more and more+形容詞/副詞原級”。
The weather is getting colder and colder.
天氣變得越來越冷。
I hope my village becomes more and more beautiful.
我希望我的村子變得越來越漂亮。
