Revision: when vs. while
這兩個(gè)詞都有“當(dāng)…的時(shí)候”的意思。
when 既可指某一點(diǎn)時(shí)間, 也可以指一段時(shí)間;
while 強(qiáng)調(diào)一段時(shí)間, 所以從句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞常是延續(xù)性的。
當(dāng) when表示“在某一段時(shí)間里” 的意思時(shí), 它可以代替
while, 但while不能代替when.
e.g. When I came home, she was cooking dinner.
當(dāng)我到家時(shí), 她正在做飯。
When you hang wet clothes near a fire, you will see
steam rising from them.
當(dāng)你把濕衣服掛在火邊時(shí), 你會(huì)看到水汽從衣服上升起。
