連讀的基本規(guī)則
句中兩詞相鄰時(shí)，如果前一個(gè)詞的詞尾是輔音音素，而后一個(gè)詞的詞首是元音音素， 則往往需要連讀。如：Will it take a lot of time to go to town on foot?
以字母r或re結(jié)尾的詞，在與元音音素開(kāi)頭的詞相鄰時(shí)，/r/要讀出來(lái)。如:There is a pair of shoes.
英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)音中/j/和/w/是半元音，如果前一個(gè)詞以輔音音素結(jié)尾，后一個(gè)詞以半元音，特別是/j/開(kāi)頭，也要連讀。如： Did you go to Shanghai last year?
如果短語(yǔ)之間或分句之間有停頓，其相鄰的音不連讀。如：Can you speak Chinese or... English?

so…that…引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句，意思是“如此……以至于……”,如：
