Grammar
并列復合句
并列復合句是指并列連詞and, but, or等把兩個或兩個以上的簡單句連在一起而構成的句子。
1. 基本結構：
簡單句 + 并列連詞 + 簡單句。
I help him and he helps me.
He is very old but he is in good health.
You can stay here, or you can leave.
2. 并列連詞前后簡單句之間的關系。
(1) 并列關系
They are watching TV, and the others are listening to the radio.
(2) 選擇關系
The children can go with us, or they can stay at home.
(3) 轉折關系
She was tired, but she did not stop working.
注意：
(1) 并列復合句有時可以不用連詞，而用分號隔開（前后句之間的關系須相當緊密）。例如：
We fished all day; we did not catch a single fish.
我們釣了一整天魚；但一條魚都沒有釣到。
(2) 并列連詞后面的簡單句如果與前面的簡單句有相同的部分，相同的部分可省略。例如：
Snoopy lives in his own world and (Snoopy) finds real life hard to understand.
史努比生活在自己的世界里，覺得現(xiàn)實生活難以理解。
