1 population n. 人口
[觀察] Recently, we have learned about the population of the world.
最近，我們了解了世界人口。
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the world's population was about 1.7 billion. 在20世紀初，全世界的人口大約是17億。
[探究] population 常與定冠詞________連用，作主語時，謂語動詞常用第三人稱________形式。
[拓展] (1)當(dāng)主語表示“人口的百分之幾、幾分之幾”時，謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。
(2)有時population可用作可數(shù)名詞，其前可用不定冠詞。
(3)表示人口的“多”或“少”，不用“much”或“little”修飾，而要用“large/big”或“small”修飾。
(4)詢問某國、某地有多少人口時，用句式“What's the population of…”。
2 abroad adv. 到國外；在國外
[觀察] Have you ever been abroad, Danny？丹尼，你曾經(jīng)去過國外嗎？
He worked abroad for many years.他在國外工作了許多年。
[探究] abroad是副詞，意為“到國外；在國外”。be abroad意為“在國外”；go abroad意為“出國”。需要注意的是abroad前面________(能/不能)用冠詞，也不能與in, to, at等介詞連用，但可與from連用。

[探究] can't wait 意為“等不及，迫不及待”，可以和can hardly wait 互換，常用于can't wait for sth.或can't wait ________ sth.。例如：
