1. Many people hurt themselves by falling off chairs.
許多人因為從椅子上摔下來而受傷。
【點撥】（1）此句中hurt oneself意為“使自己受傷”。反身代詞可以與一些動詞連用，如，teach oneself（自學）,dress oneself(給自己穿衣服)，enjoy oneself(玩得開心)，look at oneself in the mirror(照鏡子)等等。
【點撥】（2）fall off意為“從……掉下來”。
e.g. ：貓從高墻上掉下來，但一點事也沒有。
The cat fell off the high wall, but it was okay.
【點撥】（3）by在句中表示“由，用（方法，手段）”。
e.g. ：他靠畫畫謀生。 He makes a living by painting.
