【辨析】at the end of,by the end of
(1)at the end of在……盡頭/末端,在……結(jié)束時,后面可接地點或時間,后接時間時,通常與一般過去時或一般將來時連用。
(2) 到……為止,僅指時間,指某一動作在某個時間點以前或到某一時間段為止就已發(fā)生或完成,多用于過去完成時;若后面接的是將來時間,句子要用將來完成時。
◆句子he had brought from home運用了過去完成時,過去完成時由“had+過去分詞”構(gòu)成,其基本用法包括:
(1)表示在過去某一時間或某一動作之前已經(jīng)完成了的動作或狀態(tài),動作發(fā)生的時間是“過去的過去”。
(2)表示從較遠的過去的某一時間開始一直延續(xù)到較近的過去的某一時間的動作或狀態(tài),往往與for或since連用。

each在本句中作We的同位語,此時謂語動詞要與We保持一致。
【拓展】(1)each單獨作主語,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。
(2)each of短語作主語,謂語動詞用單數(shù)或復(fù)數(shù)形式都可以。

本句中的taste用作系動詞,意為“嘗起來”,后面可接形容詞。taste like意為“嘗起來像”。
