搜救犬
犬具有高度發(fā)達(dá)的神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)，有靈敏的嗅覺、非凡的聽覺、敏銳的視覺等特點；犬的鼻子里有 2.2 億個嗅覺細(xì)胞，是人嗅覺能力的 300 萬倍左右，能嗅出數(shù)萬種不同氣味；聽力是人的16 倍，能在復(fù)雜的環(huán)境中進(jìn)行聲音辨別；而且犬視覺發(fā)達(dá)，具有在微弱光線下視物的能力。
搜救犬除了利用犬上述特有的功能外，還對犬的服從性、注意力、耐久性等有很高的要求。搜救犬性情溫順、攻擊性弱，同時工作熱情高，能很快地適應(yīng)工作環(huán)境，投入工作。搜救犬中比較常用的品種為德國牧羊犬、拉布拉多犬、金毛獵犬、史賓格犬等。
而經(jīng)過嚴(yán)格訓(xùn)練的搜救犬，在各種災(zāi)難救援現(xiàn)場發(fā)揮了獨特的作用，它能捕捉空氣中彌漫的人體散發(fā)的一些細(xì)微氣味并引導(dǎo)訓(xùn)導(dǎo)員接近人體的地方，同時能判定是否是幸存者，還是遇難者的遺體。因此，在地震、雪崩等各種災(zāi)難后幫助尋找和搜救失蹤的受難者，搜救犬的作用更是無可替代。
