定語從句中的關(guān)系副詞
英語中的定語從句除了用that, which, who, whom, whose等關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)外，when, where, why等關(guān)系副詞也可以引導(dǎo)定語從句，它們一方面代表主句中的某個名詞或代詞，另一方面還在從句中作狀語，表示從句中動詞所表示動作或狀態(tài)的地點、時間、原因等。
一、when引導(dǎo)定語從句
when在定語從句中用來指時間，其先行詞都是表示時間的名詞，when在從句中作時間狀語。
【典例呈現(xiàn)】
◎I cannot tell you the time when he will come.
我無法告訴你他來的時間。
◎This is the hour when the place is full of people.
這種時候這地方到處都是人。
◎I'll never forget the days when I stayed together with my grandmother in the countryside.
我永遠(yuǎn)不會忘記我和我奶奶在鄉(xiāng)下度過的日子。
◎This was the moment when his career really took off.
這是他職業(yè)生涯鼎盛的時期。
二、where引導(dǎo)定語從句
where在定語從句中用來指地點，其先行詞都是表示地點的名詞，where在從句中作地點狀語。

◎What do you know about the city where the famous writer grew up?
你對那位著名作家長大的那座城市有什么了解嗎？
◎This is the place where he used to live.
這就是他過去居住的地方。
◎We visited the factory where computers are made last Sunday.
我們上周參觀了生產(chǎn)電腦的那家工廠。
◎That's the place where we went before.
那就是我們曾經(jīng)去過的地方。
