1.(教材P2)I was looking at the photos on the noticeboard when I heard a voice behind me.我正在瀏覽公告欄上的圖片,這時聽見背后有人說話。
【要點(diǎn)提煉】be doing...when...“正在做某事,突然……”句中的when是并列連詞,意為“就在那時”,相當(dāng)于and then或and at the same time。
(1)下列結(jié)構(gòu)中的when都是并列連詞
be doing...when... 正在做……這時……
be about to do...when... 正要做……這時……
be on the point of doing sth.when...正要做……這時……
had just done...when... 剛做了……這時……
(2)when作從屬連詞可引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句,意為“當(dāng)……的時候”;還可引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句,意為“既然;考慮到”。

天亮前我們到達(dá)陽朔,當(dāng)時正下著小雨。

1.(教材P2)When my English teacher stepped into the classroom,I was surprised to see the same older man I had met earlier.
【分析】此句為主從復(fù)合句。其中when引導(dǎo)的是時間狀語從句;主句中的I had met earlier是定語從句修飾前面的the same older man,因?yàn)閺木渲械膭釉~met(meet)缺少賓語 ,因此在從句前省略掉了引導(dǎo)詞who/that。
【譯文】當(dāng)我的英語老師走進(jìn)教室的時候,我驚奇地發(fā)現(xiàn)居然是我早些時候見到的同一個年紀(jì)稍長的人。
2.(教材P3)Before we start,please come to the front one by one and introduce yourself to the class.
【分析】此句是主從復(fù)合句。其中before引導(dǎo)的是時間狀語從句;主句是由and連接的兩個并列關(guān)系的祈使句,and前面的部分中one by one是狀語,修飾前面的動作come to the front;后面的部分中introduce oneself to是固定搭配表示向……做自我介紹。
【譯文】在我們開始上課前,請一個接一個地到教室前面來,向全班同學(xué)做自我介紹。
