1.All of a sudden,WHAM!
all of a sudden意為“突然”,相當(dāng)于suddenly,常在句中作狀語(yǔ),說(shuō)明某一動(dòng)作發(fā)生時(shí)的情況。
wham在本句中為感嘆詞,意為“砰,嘭”,它還可用作名詞,表示“重?fù)袈?重?fù)?rdquo;;用作動(dòng)詞表示“重?fù)?砰砰地打”。
2.I went down hard on my right side.
go down在本句中意為“倒下”。
【拓展】 go down還可意為“下去,蹲下,下降”。
on在本句中意為“憑借,靠”,side意為“(身體)側(cè)邊,肋”,on my right side在這里指“我以右側(cè)身體著地”。
3.“There’s something wrong with me,”I thought.
“There’s something wrong with…”意為“……有問(wèn)題”,相當(dāng)于“Something is wrong with…”,其否定式為“There is nothing wrong with…”或“There isn’t anything wrong with…”。
4.I felt so terrible that I lay down again.
so…that…意為“如此……以至于……”。so為副詞,后面可接形容詞或副詞,that為連詞,后接結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句。與so…that…類似的結(jié)構(gòu)為:such…that…。二者意思相同,不同的是such后面接名詞。so…that…引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句,可以與too…to…或“not+形容詞+enough to do sth.”作同義句轉(zhuǎn)換。
【拓展】(1)so后面也可以接名詞,但應(yīng)該有many,much,few,little等表示量的形容詞對(duì)名詞加以修飾,這時(shí)句式結(jié)構(gòu)為:
①so many/few+可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)+that從句
②so much/little+不可數(shù)名詞+that從句
(2)so…that句式在修飾可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)時(shí)還可以用在下面的句式中:
so+形容詞+a/an+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)+that從句。
lie down意為“躺下”。

bleed為動(dòng)詞,意為“流血,失血”,是blood的動(dòng)詞形式,其過(guò)去式、過(guò)去分詞為bled。
