賓語(yǔ)從句
根據(jù)引導(dǎo)詞的不同,賓語(yǔ)從句分為三類(lèi):that引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句,whether/if引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句和疑問(wèn)詞引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句。在賓語(yǔ)從句的使用中有以下三點(diǎn)需要注意:
1. 賓語(yǔ)從句中引導(dǎo)詞的選擇
賓語(yǔ)從句的引導(dǎo)詞包括that, whether, if和疑問(wèn)詞。其中that, whether和if 在句中不做任何成分,如下面例句(1)和例句(2)中的that, whether,和if。而疑問(wèn)詞在句中充當(dāng)成分,如例句(3)中引導(dǎo)詞作從句中的狀語(yǔ)。
e.g. I hear (that) he has passed the exam.
我聽(tīng)說(shuō)他通過(guò)了考試。
I wonder whether/if he has passed the exam.
我想知道他通過(guò)考試了沒(méi)有。
I asked when he passed the exam.
我問(wèn)他何時(shí)通過(guò)了考試。

2. 賓語(yǔ)從句中的時(shí)態(tài)
一般情況下,如果主句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞時(shí)態(tài)為現(xiàn)在時(shí)或?qū)?lái)時(shí),賓語(yǔ)從句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞可根據(jù)句意的需要使用任何時(shí)態(tài);如果主句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞為過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài),賓語(yǔ)從句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞使用相應(yīng)的過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài)。
試比較下面幾個(gè)句子:
I don’t know where we will go for the holiday. 我不知道我們要去哪度假。
He asked where we would go for the holiday. 他問(wèn)我們要去哪度假。
I always think they’re for people whose English is already quite good. 我一直以為這些俱樂(lè)部是為那些英語(yǔ)已經(jīng)說(shuō)得很好的人開(kāi)辦的。

定語(yǔ)從句
1. 定語(yǔ)從句引導(dǎo)詞的選擇。
從所指來(lái)看,which只能用于先行詞為物的情況,who和whom只能用于先行詞為人的情況,其中whom用于引導(dǎo)詞在定語(yǔ)從句中作賓語(yǔ)的情況,在口語(yǔ)中可用who代替;而that既可指人,又可指物。例如:
Everyone that/ who goes to Shenzhen says it I a modern city.
每個(gè)去深圳的人都說(shuō)它是一座現(xiàn)代化城市。
This is the song which/ that has been extremely popular for the last few months.
這就是那首近幾個(gè)月十分流行的歌。
Mr Li is the teacher that/whom/who we like best.
李老師是我們最喜愛(ài)的老師。

2. 定語(yǔ)從句引導(dǎo)詞的省略
當(dāng)引導(dǎo)詞在定語(yǔ)從句中充當(dāng)賓語(yǔ)成分時(shí),可以被省略。例如:
What are the subjects (that) they are studying this term?
他們這學(xué)期都學(xué)習(xí)哪些科目?
She is the woman (who/whom) I met yesterday.
她就是我昨天遇到的那個(gè)女人。
